I cracked a cold case with a library card, or did I just get lucky?

Spent 3 months digging through old police blotters in Tulsa after a tip about a 1987 missing person, and a microfilm glitch showed me a name nobody else had pulled. Does a lucky find in a public archive count as real evidence, or is it just confirmation bias dressed up in dusty clothes? Anyone else ever grabbed a thread that felt huge but might be totally random?

Man, that's just how life works sometimes, the random stuff hits while the careful searching misses.
