Hit 100,000 miles on my 2012 Civic last night and the check engine light went off like it knew

I was driving home from work around 11 PM on I-35 and the odometer rolled over to 100k exactly. Right as it hit, the CEL that had been on for 6 months just turned off by itself. No joke. I stopped at a gas station and checked the codes with my scanner and everything was clear. Has anyone else had a car do something weird like that at a big milestone?

6 months with that light on and poof, gone at exactly 100k? That's wild. I had a 2005 Corolla where the ABS light would flicker right before I needed an oil change, like clockwork. But a CEL just noping out at a specific odometer number? That's a new one on me. My guess is a loose connection or a sensor that finally got happy after hitting the mileage it wanted to see.

Pulled a similar trick on my old 2003 Camry where the CEL would go off right after a big rain. @lopez.karen it turned out to be a cracked wire in the harness that only made contact at certain temps. Might be worth checking the wiring near the battery tray if you're still poking at it.

Hate to be that guy but just a heads up... ABS light and oil changes don't really connect like that. ABS runs off wheel speed sensors, not engine oil pressure or anything related to your oil change schedule. Could be a coincidence though. As for the CEL turning off at 100k exactly, that sounds more like a software thing to me. Some cars have a maintenance minder that clears certain codes after a set number of miles, especially on older Toyota models. It's worth looking up the exact ECU logic for that year Corolla before tearing into the wiring. Mileage reset triggers are a real thing, I've seen it happen on a few Honda Accords too.
