DAE have a moment where a moon landing debate flipped your whole view on proof?
I used to argue in these threads for years and thought I had it all figured out. A few weeks ago I was up at 2am reading a long back and forth about the Apollo footage and someone linked a 2016 article in a comment. I won't get into the whole thing but it made me go back and look at what I was actually treating as proof for like 8 years. Turns out I had been trusting a couple of clips I saw on a late night show back in college and never once went to the source. I sat there going through old comments I made on here in 2021 and cringed at how sure I sounded about stuff I couldn't even point to a real doc for. Now I don't jump into these threads the same way and I try to ask where a claim actually comes from first. Has anyone else had one of these debates hand you a mirror and you didn't like what you saw? And how do you deal with people who are still where you were 8 years ago?
