Bought a $40 'authentic' moon rock from a gift shop in Roswell, now I'm torn

Stopped at a dusty roadside museum outside Roswell last Saturday and the seller swore it was a real fragment from a 1947 crash site, complete with a hand written note about the military cover up. I know it's probably painted concrete but part of me still wants to believe, has anyone else fallen for this kind of souvenir scam and just kept it anyway?

Read somewhere that those "moon rocks" from Roswell are usually just colored glass or concrete from a craft supply store, but the handwritten note makes it a fun piece of history anyway. Keep it on your shelf and enjoy the story, that's what souvenirs are for!
