Vent: Had a 20 yard pour go sideways because I skipped the rebar check

Was pouring a driveway in Phoenix last week and a 2 foot section of the base slumped bad because I didn't catch how thin the gravel was under it. Took me 4 hours with a jackhammer to cut it out and redo it, which ate my whole profit on the job. Any of you guys deal with a slump that messed up your day like that?

Used to think a little slump was no big deal, but after watching a buddy lose a whole foundation pour over a spot he thought was fine, I changed my mind completely. @danielw88 I get why it sounds overkill from the outside but when you're the one staring at a cracked slab you gotta fix out of pocket, four hours with a jackhammer starts feeling like a bargain. That gravel base is EVERYTHING in Phoenix heat, one thin spot and the whole thing shifts.

Bruh are you sure a little slump was worth four hours of jackhammering?

Did you really need that many jackhammer sessions to get out of a rut though @danielw88? I get being frustrated but four hours of that noise had to drive the whole street nuts. Plus your upstairs neighbor probably thought you were building a fallout shelter in your living room. Couldn't you have just gone for a run or bought a punching bag instead?
