Unpopular opinion: Hand trowels are outdated for large slabs
After using a power trowel on a big pour, I'll never waste time with hand troweling again.

Totally, hand troweling big areas is just wrist-breaking work for no reason.

A 10x10 section actually needs hand work for a perfect finish. Machines leave ridges and low spots you have to fix anyway. The control matters more than the extra time sometimes.

My last hand troweling job was so bad, it looked like a waffle iron gone wrong! @jake261 has a point about the control for those final touches, though. Maybe I need to practice more before I give up on hand tools completely.
