Tried a polymer fiber additive on a whim, now I'm a believer

Last month I poured a driveway in Portland and used some of that micro synthetic fiber stuff I've been skeptical about for years. Old timer at the supply yard said it would help with plastic shrinkage cracking. I figured it was just a gimmick to upsell me. But after 3 days of hot dry weather, the slab had zero hairline cracks compared to my last few jobs. What convinced me was the dog next door walked right across it after 12 hours and left no paw print damage. Has anyone else had good results with fiber additives on residential flatwork?

Funny how the stuff you write off ends up working best. The paw print test is a solid proof, no arguing with that. Guess the old timer was actually onto something.

My buddy's dog went missing for three days after a storm, and I swear the print test was the only reason we found him quick. Just make sure you check the pads carefully, some prints look similar but the spread is really different.

The paw print test is good enough proof for me too.
