That crack isolation membrane I swore was snake oil...

Back in 2018 I was pouring a garage slab for a guy in Austin and he insisted on using a liquid crack isolation membrane before the epoxy coat. I thought it was just upselling, told him so too. But 3 years later I drove past that house and the floor had zero cracks while every other slab on that street was spiderwebbed. Now I use the stuff on any garage or warehouse floor job over 500 square feet. Anybody else had a product they dismissed at first that turned out to be the real deal?

You ever have one of those moments where you just have to eat crow? I did with this stuff too. I thought it was just another upsell gimmick like those overpriced vapor barrier primers or whatever. Then a customer convinced me to try it on a commercial floor that took a ton of heavy machinery traffic. Six years later that floor still looks new while other pour jobs in the same complex are all busted up. Now I won't do a polished concrete job without it on any slab that's over a few years old. It's just one of those things where seeing is believing I guess.

Six years later"??? Holy crap man. @gonzalez.reese that's wild. I usually figure those heavy duty floors need refinishing every couple years tops.
