Switched from hand troweling to a power trowel for my garage floor jobs
I used to do all my garage floors by hand with a magnesium trowel, took me like 6 hours for a standard two-car slab. Then about 8 months ago I rented a 36-inch ride-on for a big driveway in Omaha, and I finished the whole thing in under 2 hours with way less joint peaking. Now I own a used one I got off Craigslist for $900, and the finish is so much more consistent. Has anyone else found that power trowels let you get a harder burnished finish without as much effort?

Honestly, gotta love that your back just traded one flavor of pain for another. Guess it's just keeping things interesting for you.

Yeah but now my back hates me for a different reason I guess.

Maybe it's not your back "hating" you for a different reason. I think a lot of times we just get used to a certain kind of pain and when it changes we blame it on the new thing. But really your body might be adjusting and healing in a weird way. Could be you're using muscles you haven't used in forever and they're just confused. I'm not saying it doesn't hurt, just that maybe it's a good kind of hurt. Give it a couple weeks before you decide it's just another problem.
