Got a call about floating concrete at a warehouse in Phoenix last Tuesday
I showed up to a 40,000 square foot floor that had this weird haze on top. Foreman thought it was a bad batch of sealer. But I noticed it was only in spots where they poured late afternoon. Turns out the crew didn't wet the subgrade enough before the pour and the heat sucked the moisture out fast. Ended up having to grind off the top eighth inch and replaster in sections. Cost the company an extra 12 grand. Anyone else deal with sunburn on fresh slabs down in the desert?

Buddy of mine had the same thing happen in Vegas last summer.

Having it happen to a buddy doesn't really change the fact that most of these places bank on people just giving up. Vegas especially, they know tourists are in and out in a few days, so dragging it out usually works in their favor. Getting everything in writing is smart but even then, some of these outfits will just ignore your emails until you go nuclear on social media. Reno's a bit more straightforward since it's smaller, but Vegas is a whole different animal with layers of management that all deflect to someone else.

Vegas is its own beast with stuff like this. Best advice I can give is get everything in writing from the start, even if it feels awkward. On top of that, keep a paper trail of every email and text - saved screenshots, not just the message chain. Had a similar thing happen in Reno and the only reason I got sorted out was because I had a time-stamped photo of the original agreement on my phone. Your mileage may vary but those little things can save your bacon if things go sideways.
