Showerthought: Why does every office printer have to be a drama queen?
I went to a client's office over on Elm Street yesterday to fix their main copier, and man, it's like these machines know when you're in a rush. Three people standing around staring at a blinking orange light that means 'toner low' but not actually stopping the job. But the moment someone needs 50 double-sided reports for a 2pm meeting, it throws a paper jam error for a single crumpled page. Has anyone else noticed printers are the only tech that gets *more* aggressive the more you need them?

Huh, I gotta say I see it a little different. Most of the time it's just people not keeping up with basic maintenance, like checking the toner levels or clearing jams the right way before they get bad. Printers are made to handle a lot of stuff, but they're not magic machines, you can't just ignore them for weeks and then load them with a huge job and expect zero issues. In my old day job, we had one that never gave us trouble because we cleaned the rollers and ran a print test every morning. It's like any tool, if you treat it with a little respect and keep it running right, it'll usually do what you ask.

Nah man, printers are straight up evil. I had a similar thing with the one in our home office and finally figured out the trick. Started kicking it lightly near the power button every morning to "assert dominance" and unplugging it for exactly 10 seconds when it acts up. Also stopped using the fancy settings and just stick to basic print - no double sided unless absolutely needed. That cut down the tantrums by like 80%. They just hate being asked to do too much at once, gotta keep it simple.
