Paid $50 for a 'diagnostic tool' on eBay that was just a repurposed keychain LED light

Opened the box, plugged it into a Dell Optiplex, and got nothing but a blinking plastic toy that told me exactly zero about any of the error codes, so has anyone actually found a cheap PSU tester under $75 that doesn't lie to you?

You got exactly what you paid for. A $50 eBay toy is the same gamble as a $75 PSU tester, just cheaper.

Exactly. I've been down that road myself, those eBay "testers" are basically counterfeit junk with a bad flash. Grab a used name-brand one like a Rosewill or even an older Corsair on Facebook Marketplace, they pop up all the time and actually work. You'll save money and get something that'll tell you if your rails are stable.
