Noticed three different clients this month installed their RAM in the wrong slots for dual-channel
Had to pop the hood on a build from last Thursday and sure enough, guy had them in slots 1 and 2 instead of 2 and 4, leaving like 20% performance on the table, has anyone else seen this getting more common or am I just unlucky?

Yeah I saw three builds last month all with the same mistake, slots 1 and 2 instead of 2 and 4. People just don't read the board manual anymore, they see four slots and assume the first two are the right ones. It's been getting worse since everyone started watching those YouTube builds where they just shove sticks in blind.

Maybe it's just me but I started putting little sticky notes on the motherboard box that say "slots 2 and 4 dummy" after I had to fix my buddy's build three times in one week. He kept insisting he knew what he was doing and just threw them in slots 1 and 3 because they lined up with his CPU cooler. I finally sat him down and showed him the benchmarks from his own system before and after swapping to 2 and 4 and he got a solid 15-18 fps boost in Warzone. Now he triple checks every time before he powers on.
