Finally got a proper label maker for my bench and it's a game changer

I was using a cheap marker on masking tape for years, but after a mix-up with two identical looking SATA cables from different batches, I spent $35 on a Brother PT-D200. The difference is crazy. Now every cable and part gets a clear, smudge-proof label with the date and client name. Has anyone else found a small tool that saved you a ton of time?

What specific job made you finally pull the trigger on buying it?

That SATA cable mix-up is exactly the kind of thing that pushes you over the edge... I had a similar mess with power supply cables for different model PCs. Like @wendy_jackson asked, it's always one specific job that does it. Mine was putting the wrong modular cable into a client's new build and frying a drive. After that, everything gets labeled right out of the box. The Brother labels don't peel off or fade, which saves so much headache later when you're trying to remember what a part was for.

Honestly that just sounds like making more plastic trash. A sharpie on masking tape has never let me down and it costs pennies.
