Cleaned my 500th laptop fan yesterday and it hit me
I was working on a Dell Inspiron from 2018, the usual dust bunny city inside. When I logged the job, my counter ticked over to 500. I never set out to track it, just started noting them in my work log a few years back. It's wild how many machines just need that basic care. Anyone else keep a weird count of a simple fix they do all the time?

500th fan is wild. I think I've cleaned about 500 burnt pans at this point.

Nah, I gotta disagree with that comparison. Cleaning a laptop fan is a real fix that brings a machine back from the dead. A burnt pan is just cleaning up after your own cooking mistake. One saves someone a few hundred bucks, the other just means you got distracted by your phone while making grilled cheese.
