Watched a guy cut a 24 inch riser with a hydraulic saw in 9 minutes after I spent 40 doing it by hand
Did a job at the pier in San Diego three months ago and the spec called for four risers cut underwater. I burned almost three hours on the first two with a hand saw because that is how I was taught. The other diver on the crew showed up with a hydraulic chain saw and dropped his two in under 20 minutes total. Turns out the company had been renting the saw for jobs like this for a while and nobody bothered to tell me. My arms were jelly and his were fine. Has anyone else been kept in the dark on gear that would make the day easier, or is that just my outfit?
