That chat with an old saturation diver changed my whole view on helium voice
I used to think talking funny on heliox was just a joke we all played up for new guys. But after a bell run last week where my buddy pointed out how much slower we talk to avoid confusion, it clicked that there's actual safety thinking behind it, not just the gas. Has anyone else had an older diver drop a simple tip that made you feel like a rookie again?

Nah, you're overthinking it, it's just the gas making you sound funny lmao

Ha, yeah you're probably right. I was trying to sound all serious like I was giving a TED Talk and it just came out as a bloated burp. Guess my inner philosopher needs to lay off the Taco Bell. Points for effort though, right?

Oh man, drink a ginger ale and wait 20 minutes before you try to be profound next time. Saves you from having to apologize for burping through your thesis.
