Serious question, how long did it take you to get your umbilical untangled that one time
Honestly I spent 3 hours last Tuesday fighting a birdnest in my umbilical on a dock job in Galveston. I tried every trick the old guys told me, walked it out, flipped it, even pulled the whole thing up on the deck, and it still kept catching. What finally worked was laying it out straight on the parking lot and walking the twist back to the source about 40 feet down. Took way longer than it should have for something so dumb, but man was I happy when it finally spun free. Any of you got a go to move for when it knots up on you?
Laid mine out on a gravel lot once and just walked the twist out too, took forever but it worked. Now I throw a little tension on it with my hand and let it spin out before it ever gets that bad. Walking it back to the source is really the only thing that ever fixes a bad one.
