Found a cheap trick for cleaning my Kirby Morgan mask lenses

I kept getting foggy lenses on my KM 37, tried all the fancy sprays and wipes. Then an old timer told me to rub a drop of dish soap on the inside and rinse it off, no more fog for the whole dive last Tuesday. Has anyone else got a low cost fix like that for their gear?

Rub it in dry or wet the lens first? I've heard that trick before but never got the whole process down right.

Read somewhere that some guys with the old Nemrod masks used to spit in them and rub it around, believe it or not. They swore by it for decades before modern defoggers were a thing. I haven't tried the dish soap trick myself, but I can see how it would cut through the oils that cause the fog. Might give it a shot next time I'm out, sounds a lot cheaper than buying another bottle of that overpriced Sea Drops stuff.
