Dry gloves beat the old school mitts in 38 degree water
Everyone I dive with swears by the thick neoprene mitts, but I switched to dry gloves with thin liners last month off the Oregon coast. My hands stayed warm for a full 6 hour shift where the mitts usually have me quitting by hour 3. Sure, the rings and cuffs are a pain to seat right, but losing that bulk made my bolt and valve work way easier. Anyone else make the jump and never go back, or am I the odd one here?
