Was dead wrong about buying used shears for demo work

Always bought new hydraulic shears. Thought used ones were just beat up junk. Buddy in Denver let me try his 3 year old Cat shear and it cut through steel like butter. Half the price. What's your rule on used equipment that you changed your mind about?

Man I felt that one hard. Bought a used genie boom lift a few years back that looked rough but had low hours. Guy I trust told me to stop being a snob about used gear. Thing runs like a champ still and I saved like 15k. That Cat shear story hits close to home because I almost passed on a used Stanley demo saw that ended up being the best tool in my truck. Its wild how much money we burn on new stuff when the used market has real gems if you know what to look for.
