This was a 2,200 sq ft retail fit out down in Round Rock, little coffee and plant shop. My guy wanted a $14k frameless glass front and I talked him into standard aluminum and putting the savings into a real electrical upgrade and new lighting in the back. Problem is now the shop looks so plain from the street that foot traffic is flat while everybody walking in the back half is happy as hell. Turns out on a lease like that the front is the ad and the back is just where people stand. How do you all split a tight budget between curb appeal and actual function, or do you just tell the owner to suck it up and spend on both?
lol I read somewhere that like 70% of people decide whether to walk into a shop just from the storefront, so yeah the front really is the ad. My old boss used to say spend on what gets them in the door first, then worry about the rest.
