Three weeks of chasing a water hammer in a 12-story Reno build
I finally pinned down a water hammer issue on a 12-story project in Reno that had me swapping pressure regulators and adding arrestors for 3 weeks. Turned out the building's main riser had a loose bracket behind a drywall chase on floor 8, and every time a top-floor valve closed, the pipe slapped the stud. Has anyone else spent way too long on a noise problem that ended up being mechanical, not hydraulic?
