That $400 flooring laser level I bought was a total waste

Picked up a fancy Bosch laser level for a big retail buildout in Denver last month. Thing crapped out after two days on site with just dust, not even heavy abuse. I lost $400 plus half a day trying to re-level everything manually. Anyone else had bad luck with these high end electronic levels holding up?

Wait wait wait - you spent $400 on a laser level and it quit after just two days? Thats insane for that kind of money. I had a similar thing happen with a Bosch laser level I picked up for a bathroom remodel last year, worked great for about 4 hours then just started flashing random error codes. I was so pissed I tossed it in my trunk and used a old string level the rest of the job.

Did you have the thing calibrated right out of the box or did you check it first? I got a DeWalt that was way off from the factory and had to send it back.
