Switched to spray foam on a big warehouse job and saved 14 hours
We were doing a 30,000 square foot warehouse ceiling in Phoenix and I decided to try closed cell spray foam instead of fiberglass batts. It took a full 2 days less on install time and the client's HVAC guy said they'd cut their cooling load by nearly 20 percent. The upfront cost was higher but the labor savings made up for it on this scale. Has anyone else found spray foam worth it on big commercial builds?

Did you have any trouble with the spray foam adhering to the ceiling deck in the heat?

Was the temperature in the attic above 90 degrees when they sprayed it? I've seen pros use a slower spray pattern or adjust the chemical temperatures when it gets really hot, because the foam can start to sag or pull away from the deck if it kicks off too fast. If they didn't mist the surface with a little water first or use a tack reducer, I could see adhesion being a real problem. Did you happen to check if they let the deck cool down before they started spraying, or was it baking in the sun all afternoon?
