Remember marking studs with a pencil? Now it's all laser lines
Honestly, back in 2008 when I started framing in Denver, I'd snap a chalk line and mark every stud with a pencil before setting the wall. Now I just grab my Bosch GLL 3-80 and run that red line down the plate - takes me half the time, no joke. The laser was like $400 but I stopped buying chalk and replacing strings every other week. Anyone else switched over and find their old methods feel like ancient history?

Now it's all laser lines" - tell me about it, lol. I still catch myself reaching for a pencil out of habit when I'm doing trim work, even though my laser has been sitting right there for years.

Is it just me or does that muscle memory ever actually go away? I swapped to a laser years ago for framing and I still find myself grabbing a sharpie from my pocket out of reflex when I'm marking studs. The worst part is when I try to draw a line on the wall with a pencil even though the laser's already doing it perfectly, lol. It's like my hands are stuck in 2005 while my brain knows better.

Man I used to be all about pencils but @amy_murphy85 you just made me realize I do that stupid move every time and it's hilarious.
