Picked fiberglass mesh tape over paper for a big ceiling patch
Saved maybe 20 minutes on taping but the mud blistered in three spots near the HVAC vent. Spent an extra hour sanding those bubbles out. Anyone else had better luck with paper on drywall repairs?

@willow_morgan brings up a good point about the moisture. Were you running the HVAC while the mud was drying? I've heard that can cause even paper tape to lift if the air is blowing directly on it. Wondering if the blisters popped up right after you turned the vent on or a day later.
