Just watched a crew in Phoenix try to use a standard 1/2 inch impact on a 3/4 inch anchor bolt.

They stripped the head clean off after about ten seconds. I had to stop them and explain that you need the right size socket and a torque wrench for that grade of bolt. It's not just about power, it's about control. How many of you keep a proper torque wrench on the truck for structural steel?

it's about control" really changed how I see things, I used to just crank everything.

Wait, so you were just maxing out every single setting before? That's like trying to drive a car by just flooring the gas pedal everywhere, even in a parking lot. No wonder the idea of control feels like a whole new world. I used to do the same thing and it just makes everything a mess, all noise and no clarity. Honestly, it's way more satisfying to actually learn what each little tweak does. What was the first thing you tried controlling instead of just cranking?
