Just realized those fancy paint sprayers are worth it after years of brushing
I spent 10 years doing all my commercial trim work with brushes and rollers because I figured sprayers wasted too much paint. Finally rented a Graco 395 last month on a job in downtown Portland and covered 3 times faster with way less waste. Now I'm looking at buying one for around $1,200. Anyone else switch over later in their career and feel dumb for waiting?

Ever used a brush on a windy day? That saves paint too.

Ain't it funny how we all get stuck in our ways just because we learned something one way and figured that was the only way? I did the same thing with drywall tape, used paper for years because my old boss swore by it, then finally tried mesh and felt like an idiot for all that extra sanding. Seems like half the time in this trade we're just paying for our own stubbornness.

Right? Dude, I was exactly the same way with measuring tape for years. I always used a standard tape and just kinda eyeballed my marks, but then I borrowed a buddy's digital one and it changed the game. Now I can't go back, and I cringe thinking about all the times I messed up because I was too stubborn to try something new. It's wild how we get so stuck in our heads about what works.
