Just realized comparing cheap caulk to mid-grade on a big job was a painful lesson

Last month on a 15 unit apartment building in Phoenix I used the really cheap stuff on the first 5 units. Let me tell you, it cracked and pulled away from the trim within 2 weeks in the heat. Had to go back and redo all of it with the better brand. The extra $40 per case woulda saved me 3 days of rework. Anyone else learn this the hard way with a specific brand?

Phoenix summers are brutal but I actually had the opposite luck with the cheap stuff from AZ Lumber on a rental property last year. Used their store brand acrylic latex on some baseboards and it's held up fine through two summers now with no cracking. Maybe it depends on the surface prep or the specific cheap brand.
