Caught myself shorting concrete pours for 2 years in Denver
I always figured the yield numbers on the bag were just a suggestion, so I'd add a bit extra water to stretch a mix further. Last Tuesday the inspector flagged a slab we did for a parking garage, said the compressive test came back 400 psi under spec, and that's when I realized my shortcut was the problem. Anyone else ever get burned by trying to make material go further and end up paying twice?

Water ratios are the one thing you never fudge. That test failure costs way more than saved.
