A superintendent told me my punch lists were too vague and I started numbering every single issue

He said 'if I have to ask what you mean by touch up paint, your list is useless' so now I write things like 'west wall column 3 - 2 inch scratch above outlet' with a photo reference. Has anyone else had to overhaul their closeout documentation?

Saw a GC post that photos with numbered arrows saved them from rework claims.

Yeah I'll admit I was skeptical about arrows on photos at first. But this actually makes a lot of sense, might start doing it myself.

The photo reference part is a game changer honestly. Once I started adding a circled area in the image with the issue number right next to it, nobody could argue about what needed fixing. Did you set up a template for yours or just wing it each time?
