Two different comic shops, same variant cover, wildly different crowd
Went to a midnight release for a new #1 last month in Portland and hit two stores in the same strip mall. First shop had the issue displayed on a waist-high spinner rack, so a bunch of folks were kneeling down and blocking the aisle, total bottleneck. Second store put them on the main counter with a big sign and had two guys handing them out, line moved in like 8 minutes. Same price, same book, but the layout made one feel like a wrestling match and the other like a smooth checkout. Any of you ever notice the store setup changes the whole vibe of the crowd, or is it just the people who show up?
Nodding hard at this one. I hit a shop where they stacked the hot variant behind the register so you had to ask and the guy acted like he was doing you a favor, total buzzkill compared to the place that just had them fanned out on a table with a price sticker. The crowd was way more chill there too, people actually talking instead of hovering like vultures. You think it's the employees setting the mood more than the shelves?
