Tried to explain the Clone Saga to my mom at a family dinner

We were at my aunt's house in Omaha last Sunday, and my mom asked what I was reading. I said Spider-Man, and she wanted to know which one. I started explaining Ben Reilly, the Jackal, and the whole 'who's the real Peter' mess. Her eyes glazed over after about 30 seconds, and she just said, 'So it's like that show with the twins?' Has anyone else's family ever completely given up on a comic plot?

Got the same look trying to explain the Hawkman reincarnation thing. Just said "it's like a soap opera with wings" and gave up.
