The time I nearly got thrown out of a con for a dumb joke
I was at the San Diego Comic Con panel for a smaller indie comic and I made a quick joke about the writer's previous work that landed like a lead balloon. The writer actually heard me and called me out from the stage, asking if I had something to say to everyone. Has anyone else accidentally offended a creator in a public setting like that and had to backtrack fast?

I had a similar thing happen at the Detroit Fanfare a few years ago. I made a dumb joke about the color palette in a webcomic and the artist overheard me from two tables away. He just stared at me until I apologized, and then he turned back to his sketch. I still cringe thinking about it.
