The 'Marvel vs DC' thing is so tired and misses the whole point
I was at a shop in Tacoma last weekend and heard two guys arguing for 20 minutes about which company is 'better' like it's a sports team. It's not. The real fun is in the stories and art, not picking a side. I've got a long box of Image and Dark Horse stuff that blows most of the big two's recent events out of the water. This tribal mindset just shuts down good talk about actual comics. How do you get people to look past the logo on the cover?

Oh, that whole fight misses the forest for the trees. The real problem is that arguing over Marvel or DC just feeds the big companies. They want that team loyalty so we buy every crossover event, even the bad ones. It keeps us from trying smaller books that might really surprise us. I got a friend to read a Boom! Studios book last month and he loved it more than anything he'd read in years. We have to vote with our wallets and our attention.
