The longbox purge that made me doubt my own pull list

Went through 14 short boxes last weekend and found 9 copies of the same issue from a forgettable 90s X-men event, all bought because I thought I missed it the first time. It wasn't until I sorted by cover price that I saw the pattern, I kept rebuying books I already owned instead of trying new titles. Has anyone else done a storage clear out and found their collecting habits are just compulsive repeats?

Is 9 copies of one forgettable issue really a big deal though? I mean, we all have those impulse buys when we're at a con or digging through a dollar bin and think we found a steal. Sorting by price is a cool way to spot a pattern, but it's not like you bought 9 copies of something valuable that you could've flipped for rent money. A lot of us do the same thing with trades or even single issues we thought we lost, it's just part of the hobby. Plus, 14 short boxes isn't even that much storage, so you're probably fine. Honestly, I'd be more worried if you had 9 copies of the same issue and zero new stuff in your pull list, but you clearly branch out sometimes.
