Met a guy at a con who taught me a trick for storing long boxes

Had a problem with my long boxes getting crushed in the garage. Tried stacking them different ways, nothing worked. This older collector at Comic-Con in Chicago told me to use L-brackets on the sides. He said it costs like 10 bucks at any hardware store. Been 4 months now and no warping at all. Anyone else use something weird for storage?

Wait, have you tried just flipping them on their side instead of stacking? I was in the same boat a few years back, my long boxes would always bow out in the middle no matter what I did. I ended up picking up a pack of those cheap plastic shelf brackets and screwed them into the studs in my garage, then just set the boxes right on top. Keeps them off the concrete floor too which helps with moisture. Also I started using those free liquor store boxes for my short boxes, those things are surprisingly sturdy and the handles are cut out perfect. Your L-bracket trick sounds way cleaner though, might have to try that on my next setup.

That's a solid tip. It's funny how the simplest fixes (like L-brackets) are the ones you never think of yourself. I've noticed a bigger pattern with stuff like this - people overcomplicate storage problems with fancy systems when the real answer is usually just some basic hardware. Like how people buy those expensive closet organizer kits when a couple of tension rods do the same thing for cheap. Or how everyone wants a special comic box holder but a plain old milk crate works just as well (and you can get those for free). It's almost like we've been trained to think the solution has to be something sold by a hobby shop when the real fix is at the hardware store or the grocery store.
