I bought a full run of a new indie comic and it was a total letdown
I spent about $150 on the first twelve issues of 'Chrono Knights' because the preview art looked amazing and the hype was huge. The story completely fell apart after issue six, and the last few issues felt rushed and unfinished. I feel like I paid for a promise that never got kept. Has anyone else been burned by a series that started strong but crashed hard?

Man, that really stinks. Did you try to sell the later issues or are you just stuck with them? I had the same thing happen with a sci-fi book series a few years back. The first three were great, then the author clearly lost interest and the ending made no sense. It's the worst feeling to invest time and money into something that just falls apart.

Actually, "the worst feeling" might be expecting every story to stick the landing. Sometimes the messy middle or a weird ending is what makes a series memorable, not just a clean wrap-up.

Right? Jenny_coleman gets it. But how do you know when a weird ending is actually good and not just lazy? Some of my favorite shows totally botched the finale and it ruined the whole thing for me. A messy middle can be fun, but a bad ending just feels like a waste of time.
