Had to pick between a cheap run or a key issue at my local shop yesterday

I was at Comic Kings in Omaha flipping through dollar bins and saw a beat up copy of Amazing Spider-Man 300 for $40. But right next to it was a near mint run of Matt Fraction's Hawkeye for $30 total. I grabbed the Hawkeye run and honestly it was the right call. That Fraction run is just pure joy to read and I got like 12 issues for the price of one beat up key. Anyone else ever pass on a big key for a whole story run?

Oh man, I've definitely been there... I passed on a beat-up New Mutants 98 for a full run of Brubaker's Catwoman and honestly my wallet still thanks me.

Your wallet still thanks you for that Brubaker Catwoman run, that's such a smart pick. I did the same thing with a full Bendis Daredevil run over a pricey first print of something I can't even remember now.
