Caught in a debate with my cousin over comic resale prices

Is marking up rare issues fair game or taking advantage of fellow fans?

Found a decent seller who explains why a book is priced high, like if it's a tough grade or has a real history. That kind of honesty makes a big difference to me.

Okay my two cents from someone whose "rare" comics are just the wrinkled ones under my bed. Honestly think a small markup for hard to find issues is fine, that's just how collecting works. But doubling or tripling the price just because you can? That feels like taking advantage, not sharing the hobby. There's a line between fair and greedy that some people really sprint right past.

Ugh totally. Saw a booth at a con last month asking forty bucks for a mid-grade issue I bought for twelve online. It's one thing to make a few bucks, but some of these sellers act like they're guarding the last copy on earth. Just turns people off from getting into comics in the first place.
