Pour $80 into a ceramic pour-over set that cracks in month two?

Bought a fancy ceramic dripper and carafe combo in Portland, it looked gorgeous on the shelf but the base cracked from normal thermal shock after six weeks, so tell me, are ceramic brewers just for show or is there actually one that holds up to daily hot water?
