Nostalgia hit me today about how we used to handle brew leftovers

Honestly, back in the day, we just tossed used grounds without a thought. Tbh, it was normal to see piles of paper filters in the trash. Ngl, I'm glad more folks compost them now. For instance, my local shop gives away grounds for free to gardeners. Switching to a reusable mesh filter was a bit of a learning curve. But seeing less waste in my bin each week feels good. It's nice to see this shift towards caring for the planet.

Calling it 'turning waste into something useful' is just us saying we were dumb before. At least my roses are happy now.

Totally get what dylan_smith36 means. We did a lot of dumb stuff without thinking. Like tossing coffee grounds. Now it feels weird that we ever did that. Good on you for actually using them for the roses. Shows we can actually learn better habits. Still a long way to go for a lot of things though.

Wait your local shop just gives away used grounds for free? That's wild to me. I mean for so long that stuff was just trash, you'd never think to ask for it. It's kinda brilliant they do that, turning waste into something useful for people. I'm honestly shocked that's a normal thing now in some places. Makes you realize how much we used to just throw out without a second thought. It's a cool change though, even if it takes some getting used to.
