My home grinder experiment didn't change my coffee game
I picked up a burr grinder last month after hearing all the talk about fresh beans being a must. After a few weeks with it, my coffee didn't taste any better than with the pre-ground stuff I buy. In fact, on rushed mornings, the grind was uneven and made a weak cup. Cleaning the thing became a chore I often skipped. Now I've gone back to just opening a bag of grounds for my daily brew. It's faster, less messy, and the flavor is still solid to me. I know many swear by grinding fresh, but for my routine, it's just not adding much.

My grinder is currently the most expensive paperweight in my kitchen. I had the same big plans, but mine just makes a huge mess and I can't tell the difference in the cup either. It's sitting in a cabinet behind my half empty bags of fancy beans I was too lazy to grind. I guess some of us are just meant to enjoy the simple life with our pre ground coffee.

Totally feel you on the paperweight thing, my grinder's just a countertop disaster waiting to happen.
