Blew $80 on a fancy pour over kettle and honestly it's a waste
I caved and bought one of those gooseneck kettles with the temp control dial after seeing so many people rave about them. Figured it'd change my morning routine completely. First two days I felt like a pro but by day five I realized my $15 stovetop kettle does the exact same thing. All that precision pour stuff? My coffee tastes identical. Maybe I'm just not fancy enough to notice the difference but I feel kinda ripped off. Has anyone else bought into this hype and regretted it?

Right? jennys72 nailed it with "prop for your countertop." It's like those spiralizers everyone bought thinking they'd make zucchini noodles every night and now they're collecting dust in the back of a cabinet. We get sold on the idea of transformation but end up realizing our basic stuff was doing just fine all along lol.

Right? It's one of those things where you convince yourself you need it because all the internet coffee snobs act like it's a game changer. I got one too and after a week of using it I just went back to my regular electric kettle because honestly who has time to slowly pour water in circles while half asleep. The only real difference I noticed was I could control the temperature better, but that doesn't matter if you're not doing some fancy light roast pour over routine. It's basically a $80 prop for your countertop to make you feel like you're in a cafe.
