Tutorial videos vs reading docs, I finally picked one

I spent 3 weeks bouncing between YouTube tutorials and the official docs for Python. Tutorials felt faster but I kept pausing every 2 minutes. Docs were boring but I actually finished one chapter without getting distracted. Ended up sticking with docs for the basics and now I'm wondering, do most beginners learn better one way or the other?

Sounds like you already found YOUR answer, tutorials aren't actually faster for everyone.

Did you try just picking one and sticking with it for a couple weeks before jumping to the next thing? That was my problem for a long time, I'd watch a tutorial, get halfway through, then bounce to a different video and wonder why nothing stuck. @troyreed is right that people learn different ways, but the bouncing around part is what killed me, not the tutorials themselves. Pick one source, finish it, build the thing, then go back and fill in the gaps. Sounds boring but it actually works.
