That reddit comment about clean code made me rethink my whole learning path

I was reading a thread last week where some senior dev said beginners should stop chasing tutorials and just build 3 ugly projects with zero frameworks. It stuck with me because I've spent like 6 months on Udemy courses and still freeze when I open a blank file. So I started a tiny habit tracker app yesterday in plain JavaScript and honestly the errors are teaching me way more than the videos ever did. Has anyone else ditched structured courses and just forced themselves to build something, even if it's terrible?

Man, my first project was so bad it crashed my own browser, but I learned more in that hour than in a whole month of videos.
