That $40 coding bootcamp workbook I bought off eBay was a total waste of money

Last month I decided to learn Python from scratch, and I figured a used workbook from a famous bootcamp would give me structure. I paid about $40 for it, including shipping, and it turned out to be from 2019 with outdated examples and broken links. The version of Python it taught was 3.6, and the exercises kept crashing because libraries had changed. After three frustrating evenings where I couldn't even get the first project to run, I tossed it in the recycling bin. I ended up just using free tutorials on YouTube and a cheap book from the library instead. Has anyone else had bad luck buying old bootcamp materials? What should I have looked for first?

Right, because nothing says 2024 like a coding book from 2019.
