Linting just hides the problem instead of teaching you to not forget semicolons.

Right? "Staring at code for hours" - yep, that's me last night with my face two inches from the screen like I'm looking for buried treasure. Linting just hides the problem, sure, but so does not having a smoke detector when your house is on fire, you know? Sometimes you need the alarm to scream "Hey dummy, you forgot a semicolon!" before you spend another three hours crying over coffee. Derek's right, linting saves the headache, but I still feel like a genius when I find a missing semicolon with my own eyes. It's like winning a prize for "Most Patient Person on Planet Earth.

That "missing semicolon" thing gets me every time too, especially after staring at code for hours. One thing that helped me was turning on linting in my editor so it catches those little mistakes before I even run the code. It saves a ton of headache and makes those late night debugging sessions way less painful.
