I spent $80 on a Python course that just copied free stuff from YouTube
Last month I bought a 'beginner Python' course from a site called CodeLaunch, thinking it would be structured. It was just a guy reading from a script and showing examples I'd already seen in free videos. I felt pretty silly for not checking the free options first. Has anyone found a good, truly helpful paid course that was actually worth the money?

Check the course projects before buying. A good paid course should have you build something real, not just repeat basics. I learned more from a course that had me make a simple web app than any video lecture. Look for ones with hands-on assignments.

I got burned the same way with a web design course. Now I only buy from platforms with a solid refund policy, like Udemy's 30-day window. I also check the instructor's profile for real teaching experience, not just coding skill. The course preview videos should show actual teaching, not just a sales pitch.

Those YouTube playlist courses are hit or miss too. Some are actually structured better than paid stuff. Had a friend recommend Angela Yu's 100 Days of Code course on Udemy. Took a gamble on a sale for like 15 bucks. Actually made me build stuff each day, not just watch lectures. Still a pain to filter through the junk on pay platforms.
